Indirect Commands
These mean commands that you aren't giving someone
directly. You aren't saying "Hey Nick! Do this! Hey Janet!
Do that!" while looking directly at Nick and Janet. Rather you are
saying
| Have Nick do it! |
¡Que lo haga
Nick! |
| Let Janet do that! |
¡Que lo haga
Janet! |
Often this person isn't even around! You're
"volunteering" these guys!
But if the person is with you, you can use
the Indirect Command to emphasize that you want the person to whom you
are talking to do it
| (I want) you to do it!
[YOU do it!] |
¡Que lo hagas
tú! |
The format is simple:
| ¡Que + subjunctive verb
+ (subject)! |
